Brentwood
Situated on a stunning property overlooking the ocean, this home, for jewelry designer Nancy Newberg and her husband Bruce, is a luxurious contemporary reinterpretation of the Spanish Colonial Revival style.
To fill the spacious rooms of architect’s Ron Radziner’s new design, Nancy and I traveled to Europe, sourcing pieces from Paris and Parma. I also had many pieces of furniture custom-made in my studio, including the lighting, and found others in my favorite shops in Los Angeles.
Paint was used judiciously and to excellent effect, and while I didn’t completely avoid my signature layering of fabrics, I kept mostly to neutral tones and pared-back window treatments, many of which were sourced from Otis Textiles.
The result is a study in warmth, history, and intimacy.
