Launched in London at Decorex in 1997 to rave reviews, The Kathryn M. Ireland Fabric Collection was inspired by an old favorite quilt that had lasted for at least one hundred years until it got to her house. The 19th century quilt was not up to the challenge of Kathryn's three boys Oscar, Otis and Louis jumping on it.

Challenged by this experience to make a sumptous "Kid and Dog Friendly" fabric that incorporated an old world beauty and charm, Kathryn developed her collection which is handpainted on hemp, a remarkably durable fabric. Paisleys, florals and tickings blend a nostalgic allure with contemporary colors: Apple Green, Fire Engine Red, French Blue and Lemon Yellow.

Since then Kathryn Ireland has expanded her collection to include an ever expanding array of wovens. Kathryn M. Ireland Fabrics can be found at showrooms throughout the United States and in London at the Imperial Laundry in Battersea.
